Course Requirement

Training Package Entry Requirements
    • There are no entry requirements for this course specified in the training package.
ABSC Course Entry Requirements
    • Must be 18 years of age or over (ABSC does not train underage students)
    • Must hold Australian Student Visa before starting the course
    • Must have a USI number prior to the issuance of any certification for accredited training. By the completion of the registration process applicants are required to either provide their existing USI or go to the Australian government USI website and create a USI number of themselves. ABSC provides support to enrolling students by providing information on getting USI if needed by the student.

There are no units in this course.

There will be 20 hours of face-to-face tuition per week. The studies will take place in class, and students will be given fortnightly formative assessments and mid-term and end-of-term summative assessments. Students will be assessed in all four macro skills throughout the assessments.

A combination of Formative Assessments and Summative Assessments is used by the teachers for all levels of the course for assessment of the students.

About the Course

The General English course is designed for English as a second language students who aim to use English to communicate effectively in their daily lives and be able to study in courses that require general English language skills up to IELTS General Training 6.0. The course is delivered using communicative methods with an emphasis on the importance of vocabulary, grammar and four macro skills – speaking, reading, writing, and listening. This course is fully aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and provides fortnightly assessments for students to evaluate their progress regularly.
